Bit Builder ("the app," "we," "us") is operated by Cascadia Applications LLC, an Oregon limited liability company. Bit Builder is a tool for stand-up comedians to write, organize, and record their material. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking.
We do not use your content to train AI models, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Recording is always your choice, and recordings stay private to your account unless you share them through a shared feature (below). If you choose to transcribe a recording, the audio is sent to our transcription provider, AssemblyAI, which processes it solely to provide the transcription service to us and returns the transcript we store with your recording. If you never use transcription, your audio is never sent to AssemblyAI.
If you transcribe a recording, the resulting transcript text and the written material it is compared against are also sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, which processes them solely to show you how the performance compared with the plan (which parts were delivered, and where the laughs landed). Anthropic does not use this data to train its models. Your audio itself is never sent to Anthropic.
Some features are shared by design. If you join an accountability group, other members of that group can see your name and your practice activity. In products in this family that support shared workspaces, members of a workspace can see each other's email addresses and the content in that workspace, and workspace owners can see a log of member actions. When you invite someone by email, we use that address to deliver the invitation. Content you place in a shared space is visible to its members — keep private material in your private space.
Pro subscriptions on iOS are billed by Apple; our subscription-management provider, RevenueCat, tells us whether your subscription is active. Web-based subscriptions, where offered, are billed by Stripe. Payment card details go to those providers directly and never touch our servers.
Your account, content, and recordings are stored with our hosting and database providers (Amazon Web Services and Supabase) on servers in the United States, protected in transit by HTTPS/TLS. The app also keeps a copy of your recently synced material on your own device so you can read it offline; it is removed when you sign out.
These providers process data only to deliver their service to us.
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your data and recordings are deleted. Guest accounts that are never registered are automatically deleted after a period of inactivity, administrative logs are pruned on a schedule, and database backups are cycled out on a routine schedule.
Bit Builder is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above, and where appropriate we will notify you in the app.
